Description:            This sturdy wooden white cross lies on the west side of Hwy. 95.  When I first saw it, I was perplexed by the acronyms, but after a few minutes, I deduced that  this was the memorial of a fallen state trooper.  The plaque on the cross, when translated, reads “Senior Trooper Michael J. Rao South Carolina Highway Patrol”.
